Any player registered to play for the SRPL can enter the singles and doubles. Players from different teams can join to become a doubles pair (they just need to agree on a 'home' venue). The competitions are between ALL players (Tuesday AND Thursday).

Simple answer - whenever you want! The exact timing of the match is decided between you and your opponent. It can be played on any night when you are both free - be that a Monday, Friday or whatever. The only fixed date will be for the semi-finals and final. This will probably take place on a Sunday afternoon at the end of the season - which will be scheduled not to clash with either EPA or EBPF county matches if possible.

If you are lucky enough to be drawn at home - then your home pub/club and on your home table. If not then at the home venue of your opponent. The only fixed venue will be a neutral venue for the semi finals and final.

The cost of the table for the match frames should be shared between the players equally - unless the home venue are sporting enough to give free play for the match!

If it is more convenient - for both players - to play the match somewhere else then that is fine. The conditions to this are that both players must be in agreement [otherwise the normal home venue must be used] AND that the new location is a member of [i.e. has a current team playing in] the SRPL and is happy for the match to be played there.

Each round will have a minimum of a month to be played - so if you enter both singles and doubles then you will have to play a maximum of 2 matches per month - unless you lose of course!

It is the equal responsibility of all players to make contact with their opponents and get the match played.

If no result is received by the published deadline, then both players/pairs will be eliminated and a bye put through to the next round. The advice is to arrange/play the match as early as possible to avoid any problems.

We want the competitions to be played in a friendly, sporting manner (and sometimes unexpected things happen outside of pool that affects our availability) - so if possible re-arrange the match for before the deadline and play it. You never know - you might need to rearrange a match yourself sometime! Any problems then contact Steve Farrow ASAP so that the committee can mediate and sort out any problems...

If any player/pair are having difficulties in either contacting their opponents or arranging the game then they should contact Steve Farrow at least 10 days before the deadline, giving 2 dates/times when they can play. I will then contact their opponents and try to mediate and resolve the situation. If the person does not respond to the committee, or refuses to play the match without good reason, then they will be eliminated. It is the committee's judgement call and final decision if this situation arises and due to the tight deadlines involved for each round no appeals will be permitted.
