New for Summer 2025
Starting on Tuesday 22nd April 2025; we're trialling a new match night format for the SRPL Summer season.
Match Format
- Matches are the best of 12 singles frames.
- Each match is split into 3 sections of 4x singles.
- Each team player can only play once per section
- therefore the minimum players required to complete a match is 4 and the maximum 12.
In exceptional circumstances the absolute minimum number of players to complete a fixture and avoid a penalty for a no-show is 2 (as that is the minimum to still achieve a match draw).
- The Home team choose their players for frames 1-4 before handing the card to the Away team.
- The Away team choose their players for frames 5-8 before handing the card to the Home team.
- The Home team choose their players for frames 9-12 before handing the card to the Away team.
- Each player can only play once per section. If a player is not present to sign the card at the start of the section then they cannot play in that section, players arriving late are eligible to play in any sections yet to be started.
- CUP, SHIELD & PLATE matches: These are played as a best of 13 frames. If the score after 12 frames is 6-6 both captains will choose one player who has already played to play a final deciding frame.
Time Keeping
- Matches must commence at 8.30pm. Any team failing to arrive and start playing by 8.45pm will forfeit the 1st frame. Any team failing to arrive by 9pm forfeit the entire match. The score is then recorded as a 7-0 win (10pts).
- To ensure there is sufficient time within the evening to play all 12 (or 13!) frames, all frames must be played continuously, ideally with NO BREAK for food. Food is still a requirement but must not hold up the night. Commonsense must prevail; if the match is progressing slowly, ensure you don't run out of time to play all frames. The future of this format depends on teams managing time themselves.
- Teams must adhere to a strict 2 minute rule to start the next frame. If a player is not present at the table within 2 minutes they automatically lose the lag and their opponent breaks. If a player is not ready to play the frame within 5 minutes the opposing player will be eligible to claim the frame.
- The SRPL Committee can’t be at every match and need to know if this format works for your team. Helps us by filling in the finish time when your match is over below the final score on the new format result card.
Scoring
- As per previous seasons, teams are awarded 1pt for each frame won and 3pts for winning the match. With 12 frames being played a draw is now possible.
1pt per frame plus 3pts for a win |
12-0 win = 15pts |
5-7 loss = 5pts |
11-1 win = 14pts |
4-8 loss = 4pts |
10-2 win = 13pts |
3-9 loss = 3pts |
9-3 win = 12pts |
2-10 loss = 2pts |
8-4 win = 11pts |
1-11 loss = 1pt |
7-5 win = 10pts |
0-12 loss = 0pts |
6-6 draw = 6pts |
No-Show (or less than 24hrs notice): Offending team -5pts & opponents +10pts (7-0 win) |

Facebook Singles
- Matches are the best of 11 frames with the exception of the Semis which are best of 13 and the Final which is best of 15.
- The Golden Break and Golden Duck are added to the Facebook Singles competition only:
- Golden Break - pot the black ball from the break, win the frame!
- Golden Duck - pot the black AND the white from the break, lose the frame!
Existing rules
A reminder of the existing rules still in place for the Summer 2025 season:
- Rearrangements are not permitted.
- Players can not play in a section if they are not present at the beginning of that section.
- Players can only be 'signed on' during a group stage match. They must play a frame.
- Players can not transfer to a different team mid-season.
